Privacy policy
Your meals belong to you.
PlateKeep is local-first by design. Your meal photos, notes, tags, searches, and diary entries stay on your device unless you deliberately export or share them.
The short version
- Food photos, diary notes, exact meal details, custom tag names, reminders, and search queries are stored on your device.
- No account is required to use PlateKeep’s core food diary.
- PlateKeep does not upload your food diary to OneSip Technologies, RevenueCat, or PostHog.
- Optional, coarse product analytics can be disabled from Settings in the app.
- Apple processes purchases. RevenueCat helps verify and restore the anonymous purchase entitlement.
Information stored on your device
PlateKeep stores the information needed to provide your visual food diary locally on your iPhone. This includes:
- Meal photos and generated thumbnails.
- Meal dates, times, types, notes, and custom tags.
- Reflection answers, favourites, reminder settings, and app preferences.
- Local insights derived from your diary, such as counts, timing patterns, and tag patterns.
- Files created when you choose to export your diary.
This content is not transmitted to OneSip Technologies. It may leave your device only when you deliberately export or share it using iOS, or when your own device backup settings include app data.
Product analytics
PlateKeep uses PostHog for limited product analytics so we can understand whether the app starts correctly, which broad features are useful, and where errors occur. Product analytics is enabled by default and can be switched off in the app’s Settings.
Permitted analytics may include coarse events such as:
- App start, screen views, onboarding progress, and broad feature usage.
- Whether an action such as capture, import, export, reminder setup, or purchase flow succeeded or failed.
- Non-sensitive counts or categories needed to understand feature adoption.
- Device type, operating system version, app version, language, and a pseudonymous device-scoped identifier.
Analytics events do not contain food photos, note text, search text, custom tag names, exact meal content, or exported diary data.
Purchases and entitlements
PlateKeep may offer a one-time Pro in-app purchase.
- Apple processes the payment. OneSip Technologies does not receive your card or banking details.
- RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user identifier and purchase receipt information needed to verify and restore your Pro entitlement.
- RevenueCat does not receive your meal photos, notes, tags, searches, or diary entries.
- You can restore an eligible purchase from Settings using the same Apple ID.
Website and support information
Website access
Our hosting provider may process standard technical request information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamp to deliver and protect this website. We do not place advertising cookies on platekeep.app.
When you contact support
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include. Support correspondence may be retained as needed to answer your request, troubleshoot the issue, prevent abuse, and maintain a reasonable support history. Please do not attach private meal photos or diary exports unless they are necessary and you are comfortable sharing them.
Service providers
We use a small number of service providers for specific purposes:
- Apple — app distribution, in-app purchases, and related platform services.
- RevenueCat — anonymous purchase entitlement verification and restoration.
- PostHog — optional, privacy-limited product analytics.
- Cloudflare — website hosting, delivery, and security.
- Email providers — delivery and storage of messages you send to support or privacy addresses.
Each provider processes information under its own privacy terms. We do not sell or rent personal information.
Retention and deletion
- You can delete individual meal entries or clear your diary from within PlateKeep.
- Deleting the app removes its locally stored data from the device, subject to how iOS and your own device backups operate.
- Pseudonymous analytics is retained only as reasonably needed to understand and improve the product.
- Support correspondence may be kept while a request is active and for a reasonable period afterwards.
To ask about deletion of analytics or support information that may relate to you, email privacy@onesiptech.com. We may need enough information to identify the relevant record.
Your choices and rights
- Turn product analytics off at any time from PlateKeep Settings.
- Choose whether to grant camera, photo-library, and notification permissions through iOS Settings.
- Export or delete your local diary using the controls available in the app.
- Contact us to ask about access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection rights that apply under your local law.
Children’s privacy
PlateKeep is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards for the limited information we process. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as PlateKeep evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a revised date before or when the relevant change takes effect.
